Barleys was born out of a desire to deliver all-vegan, no-fuss food in a casual environment without compromise on flavour. We opened the doors in August 2020 as Hull’s first vegan deli with just three signature sandwiches and a few bakes on the menu...

A whirlwind reception meant we were soon open 7 days a week with a larger offering, changing lunch specials and soon enough we began developing our own recipes for quality vegan meat replacements to use in our sandwiches. Fast forward 3 years and we've opened a second location, collaborated menus and pop ups with local businesses, increased our seating five-fold, coordinated a couple of mini refurbs, grown to a team of six, catered a few weddings and hosted multiple Supper Clubs!
